FAQs – First Holy Communion
It is such an exciting family time when there is a First Holy Communion in the house. This is possibly your first-time shopping for a First Holy Communion Dress and we are sure you have lots of questions. We have been helping little girls say ‘Yes to The Dress’ for many years now and we are hoping we get to help you too. Below we have put together some FAQ’s to help you.
A: The new 2025 collection will be arriving in store and available to view from 3rd of October. This year you can book your own appointment on line on our website. Our booking system will open on September 12th at 6pm! . We do have a strict one dress per school policy , so the earlier you choose the more choice you have.
A: This is to ensure that we can give you a one to one dedicated private consultation with one of our highly trained experienced stylists in our Boutique who will guide and help your child to find your perfect dress.
A: Appointments last for 1 hr. During that time, you will get to view the collection and to try on the selection of the dresses that you like as well as have the consultant make some suggestions. We will work to help you leave Cinderella’s Closet delighted, having bought the perfect dress! Please note appointments made are for ONE child only. If you have multiple siblings please call us on 021-4225000.
A: Yes, there certainly is! You, with your child, should look at our Gallery of dresses and see what you both like or don’t like. If you wish to take note of any of our dresses that you would like to try on this can be helpful, it will allow your consultant to learn more about what style and look you are hoping to wear on your Communion day! Don’t worry if you have no idea of what you would like or if you both are liking or not liking similar style, you have come to the right place!!
A: The most important thing to bring is an ‘Open Mind’. If you have some photos of dress styles that you like, bring them. Remember this dress needs to be agreed and loved by both you and your child so there often needs to be some compromise…. We also recommend not bringing too many people to the appointment as a lot of opinions in the room can make it more difficult to choose and can become overwhelming for you both. Trust your taste and your knowledge on what suits your child. Important Tip: If your daughter is wearing white ankle socks and a white string vest, this will help you view the dresses on her much easier. Also, if you have an idea on whether her hair will be worn up or down on her Communion day, then maybe style her hair similar to that on the day. These are just suggestions to make it easier to choose.
A: We typically have every size here on the day but not every size in every dress style. We will work with you to help you choose the right style and size for your child. We will measure your child on the day and advise you on what size to order in a dress in.
A: Absolutely! Not only do our Princesses find their dress on their visit to our Boutique, but they also find all their accessories (veils, headpieces/tiara, gloves, bags etc) on their visit.
A: We take a €20 deposit at the time of booking to secure your consultation that is fully refunded on the day or if you cancel 48 hours before your consultation.
A: We accept Visa & Laser Card as well as cash and personal cheques. (Personal cheques are only accepted for deposit, not final payment). To confirm your order, we require a 50% deposit. When the gown arrives at Cinderella’s Closet and passes our quality control check, we will contact you to let you know and to schedule a viewing and collection. At that point, we require payment of the remaining 50% balance. Also note, we can arrange a payment plan with you for the second 50%, if you wish to spread out your cost. When a gown arrives, we will hold it for up to two weeks.
A: Our 2025 collection ranges from €299 to €449.
A: No, dresses are made to standard size by age and minor alterations may be required once it arrives to fit your daughter’s body perfectly.
A: No, but if you don’t have a seamstress known to you, we will recommend a highly qualified one. All transactions for alterations are done directly with your seamstress. The final tailoring of a dress can make all the difference on how it looks and feel on the day.
A: Yes, when we call you to say your dress has arrived we will arrange an appointment with you so that you get the opportunity to try on your child’s dress and ensure that you are both happy before you leave. This appointment is 30 mins approximately.
A: We ask that you bring no more than 4 people including your child to your appointment please.
A: Now that’s an easy one, you can book online or just call us on 021 4225000 to make one. You can view some of our styles in advance on our website www.cinderellascloset.ie. Also, don’t forget to Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date on the new designs as they arrive.
A. Changed your mind? Cinderella’s Closet offers a 14 Day Returns Policy. You can send the parcel back to us, and we will issue a refund to you as soon as possible (less delivery charge). The item must be in perfect condition.
A. We offer a 14-day return policy for a full refund. Unfortunately, we cannot offer exchange for online orders. All orders bought using gift vouchers will be returned back onto the gift voucher immediately. All orders bought using other payment methods can take up to 10 days for a refund to be processed.
A. You can return an item by turning the bag inside out. Put our address on the outside of the package -Cinderella’s Closet, Unit 1, North Point House, North Point Business Park, New Mallow Road, Cork.T23AT2P . Take it to your nearest post office to return. Please note we do not cover the cost to return. We recommend that you use a trackable form of return as your item is your responsibility until it is received by us and unfortunately we will not be responsible for or refund any items lost in transit by until OR You can return an item by dropping it back to our Store Cinderella’s Closet, Unit 1, North Point House, North Point Business Park, New Mallow Road, Cork T23AT2P
A. We issue the refund back on to the card that was originally used to purchase the item, as soon as goods have been received and checked as ok. Each bank takes a different number of days to process refunds, but you should receive it within a few days.
A. Back order means that we do not have your item in stock but is due into stock. You will receive a phone call to advise you how long the order will take to arrive.
